Step 1 of 7: Vehicle

What are you selling?

We buy used touring caravans and motorhomes from private owners across the UK.

We don't currently buy static caravans, campervans, commercial vans or cars.

Before you start

What to have to hand

The form takes a few minutes and saves as you go, so you can stop and come back on the same device. The more accurate the detail, the more useful the conversation when we call you back.

  • Manufacturer, model and year

These sit on the chassis plate, in the handbook or on the V5C for a motorhome. Layout and berth count help too, because a fixed-bed and an end-washroom version of the same model are not the same vehicle to a buyer.

  • Honest condition notes

Damp readings, delamination, water ingress around windows and skylights, tyre age, and anything that does not work. Telling us early means the valuation we discuss on the phone is the one that stands when we see the vehicle.

  • Photographs

Front, back, both sides, the interior at both ends, the washroom, and close-ups of any damage. Daylight and a step back from the vehicle beat a dozen tight shots.

  • Paperwork and location

Service or habitation history, the V5C for a motorhome, the CRiS number for a caravan, and whether there is finance outstanding. Then the postcode and whether the vehicle is at home or in storage.

What happens next

No figure on screen — we call you

We do not put an instant number on the screen, because a number generated from three dropdowns is not a valuation — it is a guess that gets revised the moment anyone looks at the vehicle. Instead, a member of the buying team reads what you have sent, checks it against what we are currently buying and selling, and calls you to talk it through.

On that call you can ask how we arrived at the figure, what the damp or the mileage is doing to it, and what would change it. If the figure is not for you, that is the end of it — there is no obligation, no follow-up pressure and no cost for asking.

If you do go ahead, we agree the paperwork and arrange collection from wherever the vehicle is: your driveway, a storage compound, a farm yard or a relative's address. You do not tow or drive it anywhere.

Quick answers

Should I get more than one valuation before selling?

Yes, if you have the time — it is a sensible thing to do and we would not suggest otherwise. Just make sure you are comparing like with like: whether each figure is an estimate or a firm offer, what condition it assumes, what comes off it and how you would be paid.

Questions that make figures comparable

  • Is this an estimate or an offer you will honour after inspection?
  • What condition and history has been assumed?
  • Does it include collection or transport?
  • Are there fees, commission or admin charges?
  • When would the money reach my account?
  • How is outstanding finance handled?

Watch for figures that move later

A high number that drops sharply once someone inspects the vehicle is not a better offer than a realistic one that holds. Ask what would change the figure before you commit your time.

What information do I need for an accurate valuation?

Make, model, year and layout, plus an honest description of condition — damp, floor, bodywork and anything that does not work. For a motorhome add the registration, mileage and MOT status. Tell us where the vehicle is kept and whether any finance is outstanding.

Will photographs make my valuation more accurate?

Yes, considerably. Daylight photographs of all sides, the interior, the washroom, any damage and — for a motorhome — the odometer let us discuss a realistic figure with you sooner, and reduce the chance of the picture changing at inspection.
