Liverpool's terraced streets rule out home storage for most owners, so caravans are kept at yards towards Speke, Kirkby and Wirral — or on a Welsh coastal pitch. Motorhomes fare better but still face resident parking limits.

Aigburth and West Derby have some of the city's more generous plots, but even here a full-size tourer rarely fits on a driveway, so most owners in these suburbs use a yard towards Speke or Kirkby instead. Huyton and Kirkby sit further out and offer a bit more storage supply at lower cost than sites closer to the city centre, which is why a lot of Liverpool-registered vehicles are actually kept several miles from the owner's home.

Crosby's coastal position means some owners there use it as a base for shorter tours up towards the Lancashire coast or across into North Wales via the Mersey crossings, rather than committing to a full seasonal pitch. Motorhomes generally cope better with city life than towed caravans, since a Class B or smaller panel van conversion can sometimes be parked on-street, though resident permit restrictions still catch plenty of owners out.

A meaningful share of Liverpool caravan owners actually keep their vehicle on a seasonal pitch across in North Wales rather than anywhere in Merseyside at all, following the well-worn route out over the Mersey and along the A55. That means the registered address and the true storage location are very often different, which is worth being upfront about from the start.
