Condition, damp and damage

Condition is where most selling worry sits, usually because a private buyer has already walked away after reading a habitation report. Damp, delamination, a soft floor or an old repair do not make a vehicle unsellable. What they change is who can realistically buy it, and how confidently it can be valued before anyone sees it.

Readings are more useful as a pattern than as a single number. Where the moisture is, whether it is rising year on year, and whether it has already been investigated matter more than one percentage. Engineers and manufacturers apply different thresholds, so we do not publish fixed figures.

The other question this cluster answers is whether to spend money first. Sometimes a small, cheap job genuinely helps. Often a proper repair costs more than it changes anything, and cosmetic patching over a known problem is worse than leaving it alone.
