Why the badge matters

Some manufacturers have a stronger following, better parts supply or a reputation for build quality, and that feeds into how quickly a caravan sells and to whom. Within a range, higher-specification models often hold interest better than entry-level trims.

Why it does not decide everything

• Damp or floor problems affect any make
• A missing or broken-up history is harder to work around than a badge
• Layout and berth count can matter more than the manufacturer
• Very rare models are not always easier to sell — fewer buyers can mean less competition

What to tell us

• Full make, model and model year, from the CRiS document if you have it
• Layout and number of berths
• Any factory-fitted specification such as an ALDE heating system or a fixed bed

Weight and axle detail we still need

Two caravans of the same make and model can suit different buyers entirely because of weight. The MTPLM — the maximum technically permissible laden mass on the CRiS document and the weight plate — decides which cars can legally tow it, and that changes how many people can buy it.

Axle configuration works the same way: single-axle tourers are easier to manoeuvre and store, while twin-axle caravans appeal to buyers with a heavier tow car and a site pitch that suits them.
