Paperwork and ownership
Paperwork decides how smoothly a sale completes, not whether it can happen. A caravan is identified by its CRiS record and chassis number; a motorhome by its registration and V5C. Alongside that sit service and habitation records, the MOT history, keys, handbooks and any proof of how the vehicle came to you.
Missing documents are common and usually solvable. A lost CRiS document, a V5C in a late relative's name, no habitation history at all — each has a route through it, and none of them is a reason to avoid asking.
